Let’s take a step back. What is health & wellness, really?

As defined by the World Health Organization, health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being—not merely the absence of disease or illness. This evolved approach takes into consideration a much broader understanding of health than Western medicine has traditionally. Real health & wellness involves being more proactive with the many dimensions of our bodily health & life experience. As scientific research continues to bear true, these various components are, in fact, very interconnected and are each an important element in enjoying an overall healthy life.

What are the components of health & wellness?

The Wheel of Health helps us understand the many facets of living a healthy, happy, and meaningful life. You’ll notice that more than simply biological health is incorporated here, and that’s because it is one piece of a larger, more holistic picture of health & well-being. Guiding principles for our work together

  • Health involves the whole self.

Wellness goes beyond the physical body. Our mental and emotional states are intricately connected to our biology, and so a holistic approach helps us be more proactive in preventing illness and creating a true sense of well-being.

  • You are the expert on your own life, experience & needs.

Everyone has different preferences, constraints, and goals. By focusing on the changes that fit you individually and the support you need to succeed, we can create sustainable lifestyle shifts, ultimately leading to the changes you’re looking for.

  • Transformation starts with small change.

Incremental steps in the right direction create momentum for continued, positive evolution. Leaning on key principles of habit change, we will fine-tune each action so that it’s maintainable and aligned with your overall health & well-being goals.

  • Mindfulness creates insights for success.

Every experience we have with making change provides us with feedback as to what does and does not work for us. Being mindful of our strengths, barriers, thoughts, and needs leads us to insights that inform a more fruitful path forward.
